A need to improve, a need to innovate and a need to advance…  The industry was in need of a SOLUTION. The United States Environmental Protection Agency had issued new regulations forbidding tank car owners from merely venting leftover vapor pressure to atmosphere. The hydrocarbons were contributing to greenhouse gasses and potential global warming.  The optimal way to satisfy the new EPA regulations was to flare off the vapors. The primary option for flaring a tank car existed at fixed railcar repair shops with static flares. However, railroad rates did not always make the move to a fixed shop the most economical option. These costs, coupled with the potential need to flare a car in the field because of repair issues, created the need for MOBILE FLARING.  So in 2012, First Flare and Repair was founded and has been the mobile flaring solution EVER SINCE. This opportunity created the springboard for First Flare and Repair to grow to include a multitude of railcar services all offered on a MOBILE BASIS.
